Jack Ward collected three hits in four at bats, as Canadian Premier Underclass defeated A3 Academy 15-10 on Tuesday in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Ward notched singles in the second, eighth inning and ninth inning. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Canadian Premier Underclass collected 16 hits and A3 12 in the high-scoring affair.
A3 got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after an RBI groundout. A# extended the lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. A3 extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the 3rd.
Canadian Premier Underclass tied the game in the top of the eighth thanks to a single by Ward, and a double by Juan Cruz. Canadian Premier Underclass flipped the game on its head in the top of the ninth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 15-10.
Cameron Tully started the game and surrendered three hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking one.
Evan Wallace, Finn McLean, Brett Crowley, Aaron Monterroza each threw shutout innings. The offense piled up 16 hits in the game. Alex Kuypers and Ward each collected three hits. Cruz went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Rafael Besancon collected two hits for in five at bats.
