CPBL Prospect Games Tryout Information and Registration
Who
CPBL players in the 13U-18U divisions are eligible to participate in their respective groups ‘Prospect Game’ if they sign up and go through the tryout process. Players that are graduating from their program and attending college in the fall of 2026 are NOT eligible.
The selection process for all players who sign up includes a pro style workout day focused on assessing each player's physical attributes (running 60 yards, defensive work and batting practice). Players will then be followed throughout the CPBL league play to access game play and to allow for players to fairly showcase their ability and grow their game.
The committee included in the selection process is comprised of CPBL executives, MLB Scouts, CPBL Organizational Leaders and the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy.
As part of our partnership with Perfect Game, they will attend the entire Prospects Weekend to scout, provide social media coverage and help select the Canadian Premier Teams.
What
The CPBL Prospect Games bring together the top players from the league, divided into six categories. For our 2026 event, the game categories will be as follows:
2027 Grad Class (Largely 17U players and returning 18U players)
2028 Grad Class (Largely 16U players)
2029 Grad Class (Largely 15U players)
14U Major
14U Minor
13U
Each 14U-2027 game will be preceded by a MLB style scout day that will include 60yrd runs, full infield/outfield and batting practice. The game structure is designed to allow pitchers a fair opportunity to showcase themselves so each pitcher will throw approximately 20 pitches. The length of the games typically allow for position players to get 3 or more at bats.
For our 13U group, pre-game activities will be announced at a later date
In addition to trying out for the CPBL Prospect Game 2010-2007 born players will also be evaluated by the Toronto Blue Jays Academy for their 2026 Futures Showcase all for the one try-out fee. Our 14U (2011 & 2012) groups will have the option to opt in to this Blue Jays evaluation. This can be added during the registration process. Look for the "14U Blue Jays Try-Out Fee" during check out. Our 2013 and 2014 players will not have the option to be evaluated by the Blue Jays until their 14U year.

Why
CPBL member programs are designed to develop aspiring student athletes in order to get them to the next level, whether it be college or professional baseball. A necessary part of that process is exposure to the scouting community. With the continued growth of the CPBL’s talent, it is our goal to provide exposure for our players on Canadian soil.

Canadian Premier Teams
The CPBL offers three league ‘All Star’ teams that play under the Canadian Premier (2027 Class) and Canadian Premier Underclass (2008 Class) and Canadian Premier Sophomore (2029 Class) banners. These teams are brought together through a three step process that include: CPBL Prospect Game tryouts, CPBL League play and the Prospects Weekend. Evaluators from around the CPBL, MLB Scouts, the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy and our partners at Perfect Game work together to assemble the rosters.
The Canadian Premier Team enters the PG WWBA Tournament (Jupiter, FL), commonly known as Jupiter, with the purpose of competing against the best HS competition in the world in front of a large contingency of MLB scouts, executives as well as college coaches.
The Canadian Premier Underclass enters the PG WWBA Underclass Tournament (Ft. Myers, FL) also with the purpose of competing against the best HS competition in front of college recruiters.
The Inaugural Canadian Premier Sophomore team will compete at the Perfect Game Midwest Champions Cup, scheduled for September 25–27, 2026, in New Lenox, Illinois.
Continued Partnership with Toronto Blue Jays™ Baseball Academy
The Canadian Premier Baseball League is pleased to announce that 2026 will mark the third year of our continued partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays Academy. Beginning in 2024, this partnership set out to give CPBL players the opportunity to be evaluated for the two most prestigious amateur baseball events in the country, in one place at one time. This year, similar to years past, players will have the opportunity to try-out for the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy Canadian Futures Showcase in addition to the CPBL Prospects Game, all in one workout. All players will be evaluated for the CPBL Prospects Game by a committee comprised of CPBL executives, MLB Scouts and CPBL Organizational Leaders, while the Toronto Blue Jays Scouting Department will be on hand to evaluate for their Futures Showcase. Players selected for either the CPBL Prospect Games or the Toronto Blue Jays Futures Showcase will have the opportunity to compete in front of the largest college recruiting and professional scouting events Canadian players are offered.
Please note: the Toronto Blue Jays are supporting the CPBL Prospect Games Tryouts and are not the administrators of any CPBL event. Any inquiries related to CPBL events should be directed to the CPBL.
Please note that scouting evaluations of players may be shared between the CPBL and Rogers Blue Jays Baseball Partnership, including for the purposes of assessing potential participants for the 2026 Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy Canadian Futures Showcase.
Please note: our 14U Minor and 14U Major players will have the option to be evaluated by the Toronto Blue Jays scouting staff for their event at additional cost. The 15U-18U players, this will be included in their registration fee.
Finally, Please note, the 13U division will not be evaluated by the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy. Their try-out will be solely for the CPBL Prospect Game alone.
