Diamond Baseball Academy Joins CPBL Prospect Division, Continuing League’s Expansion into Quebec

The Canadian Premier Baseball League (CPBL) is proud to announce that Diamond Baseball Academy has officially joined the league’s Prospect Division, becoming just the second organization from outside Ontario to earn membership in the CPBL.

The addition represents another significant step in the CPBL’s continued growth and further strengthens the league’s presence in Quebec, while welcoming an organization that has demonstrated a strong commitment to player development, competitive excellence, and long-term organizational growth.

Under the leadership of President Benoit Blais and Roch Seguin, Diamond Baseball Academy has emerged as a program on the rise, building a development model focused on preparing its athletes to compete at increasingly higher levels of the game.

For Diamond Baseball Academy, entry into the Prospect Division provides an opportunity to continue that progression within the CPBL’s structured and highly competitive environment.

“Joining the CPBL is a direct reflection of our mission to provide our players with the highest level of development and competition,” said Benoit Blais, President of Diamond Baseball Academy. “We are honoured by the trust shown by the CPBL leadership, and we approach this new chapter with great ambition and enthusiasm.”

Competing in the CPBL will provide Diamond athletes with regular opportunities to test themselves against high-level programs and players from across the league while gaining increased exposure to collegiate programs and professional scouts.

The CPBL has established itself as an important development pathway for Canadian players. At the most recent Canadian Futures Showcase, more than 70 percent of the players selected to participate came from CPBL organizations, highlighting the significant presence of league-developed athletes at one of the country’s premier amateur showcase events.

The addition of Diamond Baseball Academy also represents another step toward the CPBL’s goal of strategically expanding beyond its traditional Ontario footprint while maintaining the standards that have driven the league’s growth.

“We can’t reiterate enough how excited we are about the league’s expansion and the number of new organizations, teams, and players we’ve welcomed,” said TJ Burton, CPBL Director of Strategy & Growth. “We’ve raised a bar that was already set extremely high, and welcoming Diamond Baseball Academy to our Prospect Division is another important step as we continue expanding our footprint in Quebec.

“Growing the league north, south, east, and west — where it makes sense and with the right organizations — has been an important goal for us. Diamond has been a program on the rise over the past two to three years, and under the leadership of Benoit Blais and Roch Seguin, they’ve taken significant steps forward.

Diamond Baseball Academy joins the CPBL during a significant period of expansion for the league, with several new organizations entering the CPBL and creating additional competitive and developmental opportunities for players across a growing geographic footprint.

The CPBL looks forward to welcoming Diamond Baseball Academy’s players, coaches, and families and seeing the organization begin the next chapter of its development as a member of the CPBL Prospect Division.
