The Canadian Premier Baseball League is pleased to announce that 2026 will mark the third year of our continued partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays Academy. Beginning in 2024, this partnership set out to give CPBL players the opportunity to be evaluated for the two most prestigious amateur baseball events in the country, in one place at one time. This year, similar to years past, players will have the opportunity to try-out for the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy Canadian Futures Showcase in addition to the CPBL Prospects Game, all in one workout. All players will be evaluated for the CPBL Prospects Game by a committee comprised of CPBL executives, MLB Scouts and CPBL Organizational Leaders, while the Toronto Blue Jays Scouting Department will be on hand to evaluate for their Futures Showcase. Players selected for either the CPBL Prospect Games or the Toronto Blue Jays Futures Showcase will have the opportunity to compete in front of the largest college recruiting and professional scouting events Canadian players are offered.
"In the beginning, our goal in this partnership was to consolidate the process for our players and families. Prior to the 2024 season, our players were asked to attend separate tryouts at different dates, times and locations for each event. This partnership has enabled players to save money, miss less school and work towards one being included in the top 2 events in the country. We are appreciative of the involvement the Toronto Blue Jays Academy has in the world of Amateur Baseball and the support they continue to lend the CPBL."
- Chris Robinson President CPBL
“The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy is thrilled to continue our partnership with the Canadian Premier Baseball League (CPBL). Since 2024, we have worked together to put Canadian families and players first, making the player-evaluation process more accessible, efficient, and meaningful for those navigating a busy baseball landscape.
Our shared goal with the CPBL is to streamline a pathway for athletes, and ultimately create meaningful opportunities for athletes across Canada. By integrating evaluations for the Canadian Futures Showcase Tournament and the CPBL Prospect Games, we are reducing the need for families to attend multiple showcase events, helping them avoid redundant travel, additional costs, and conflicting schedules.
We are excited for this continued partnership and confident that this unified evaluation process has a positive impact on players, parents, and the wider baseball community”
